Design and installation of natural stone cladding used in a well-known High Street brand store.
STAGES: Project coordination, technical design and construction (UK RIBA stages 4 & 5).

DESCRIPTION:
Harrison Goldman Studio was appointed by Restore London (Specialist sub-contractor) to work in a new built natural stone façade on a five-storey building, home of a well-known High Street brand. The store is located in the heart of Oxford Street. It was an excellent opportunity to work in the most famous street of London and with some of the most skilled technical companies in the city. We worked close with Stainless Steel Fixings (bracketry and fixing supply) and Ranco (natural stone supply).
I had the opportunity of working on the design and detailing of the cladding sub-structure that was fixed to a metal frame façade. We were able to provide our client with a bespoke, highly innovative stainless steel sub-structure system that allowed both the support and restraint of the new 75 mm Jordan’s Whitbed stone façade to what is a relatively light-weight structure.
One of the most challenging point of the design, was the achievement of a 10 meter long sloping soffit stone that crown the façade over Oxford Street pedestrians.
The beauty of the finished façade belied the highly complex design beneath and we are delighted to have been able to assist our client with this technically demanding job.
