Design and installation of natural stone cladding used in a high quality residential building.

STAGES: Project coordination, technical design and construction. (UK RIBA stages 4 & 5).

DESCRIPTION:

At Harrison Goldman Studio, I was involved in the complex project of buildings E1 & E2 (Vertus) Wood Wharf-Canary Wharf. We had the opportunity of working with Commercial Stone Ltd. at this challenging external stone cladding façade.  Our team took part on the design of the outer perimeter and facade of the lower levels of this 36-storey residential and retail development. Considering the latest production techniques, we had to design a complex metal substructure for the impressive stone balconies at Levels 2 to 4.

It was a real challenge working with such a difficult structure and design. I significantly improved my knowledge about materials, metal fixings, natural stone work, fire protection and construction details, working together and sharing a schedule with different professional teams.
